WE’RE HERE TO HELP. If you need help, you’re in the right place. Needing help is not a bad thing. That is how the Lord has structured the body. That is why “…..the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you” (1 Cor 12:21). Today, we strengthen you, and tomorrow you strengthen us. Remember that “the whole body [is] fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, [which] maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love” (Eph 4:16). The Body edifies, or builds itself up, in love. In other words, the more you recognize the spiritual importance of the Second Greatest Commandment which tells us to love our neighbor as ourselves, (See Lecture 042 on “What is the Sum of the Ten Commandments?), the better equipped you shall be to edify the saints. Have you been able to recognize the measure of working on your part? Do you know how to put it to use? Do you know how to supply life to another member of the Body? The more you know, the more you grow. The more you grow, the better are you able to help others to grow. Remember growth is not measured in how long ago you said the sinner’s prayer. Growth is measured in Christlikeness. Christlikeness is unattainable apart from doctrine. Not the doctrines of men but the doctrine of Christ. The last thing you want to be is “barren or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ” (2Pet 1:8).
The spiritual ability to help, or edify, others, is a manifestation of fruitfulness. We are the trees of the Garden of which others may freely eat (Gen 2:16; Ps 1:3 Prov 11:30; Isa 61:1-4)). But barrenness and unfruitfulness go hand in hand. Psalm 1:1 tells us to steer clear of manmade doctrines and human religious traditions. Verse 2 tells us to meditate on the inward, spiritual significance of the law of God. Most Christians have never done an in-depth study of the Ten Commandments or any kind of study of it at all.
They see the Ten Commandments as ancient history that has nothing to do with the Church. This is a grave error, thanks to Dispensationalism, which teaches that one dispensation has nothing to do with the other. This, of course, is false. In the first place the Bible does not speak in terms of dispensations. There is no such thing. But that error is part of the great error of neglecting to read, study, and understand the Old Testament. Every New Testament truth is rooted and grounded in Old Testament types and shadows. That’s how you know if a doctrine is fact or fable. Was it foreshadowed in the OT?
Ignorance of the OT will cause you to be barren and unfruitful in the knowledge of the Lord. Paul reminded Timothy of the importance of knowing “the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus (2Tim 3:15-16). If Dispensationalism is correct, then Paul is wrong. When we neglect to unpack the OT, we neglect the truth that “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works”. At the time of Paul’s writing, all that Timothy had were the scriptures of the Old Testament. And the Lord Jesus Himself testified to the disciples on the road to Emmaus, when, “beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself” (Luke 24:27).
After He taught them some more “he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures” (Luke 24:44-45). When the Lord opens our understanding, we will realize that it is unprofitable to omit huge chunks of God-inspired Scripture.
The Scriptures of the OT are profitable for doctrine and instruction in righteousness, causing the servant of God to be thoroughly furnished, or equipped, unto all good works. The work here being the edifying of the body in love. Being well versed in the doctrines of your particular church group or organization is not necessarily the same as being well taught in the doctrines of Christ. In fact, there is a major error being embraced by the majority of churches that is preparing many to be deceived by the Antichrist (which we have revealed to our students). What many do not know or realize is that the mystery of iniquity is already at work. The mystery of iniquity is this. The Antichrist is not seeking the total destruction of Christianity. He needs the Church. He needs at least the outward shell of the Church. He needs nominal Churchianity which has a form of godliness but denies the power thereof.
You see, nature abhors a vacuum. And since many churches are content to function with the real Jesus standing outside the door knocking, this gives the Antichrist opportunity to enter and sit in the temple of God. His plan is to present himself to the world as the supreme God, but in order to do so, he needs to be sitting in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. But the Church is the temple of God. So to sit in the temple of God, he would need wide-ranging recognition and support from the churches, and then from that vantage point, he presents himself to the world as God. Then, when his power is consolidated, he unleashes fury upon the true believers
But he is going to face one huge problem. A people that do know their God. These people shall be strong and do exploits. They are going to resist him with pure doctrinal truth, as a result of which he is going to make war against them. Even though he may prevail against the true Church temporarily, yet will the stone made without hands destroy his kingdom and his reign ((Rev 7:13; Daniel 7:18). But the point we are making is that he needs backslidden, nominal Christians and churches in order to pull off the greatest con in the history of mankind. Are you aiding and abetting him without realizing it?.
In preparation, he has introduced another Jesus. another gospel, and another spirit into the mix (2Cor 11:1-4). He has employed the use of the brilliant minds of the Jesuits to do so. This would mean that many in the churches are reaching out and praying to a Jesus that is not the Son of God; listening to and believing a message that is not the true gospel. By extension, if they have a false Jesus then they do not have a true doctrine of Christ.
Along with this, they have another spirit, which means that the anointing they now have, the anointing they now boast of, is actually a counterfeit anointing. Some may say that this does not apply to them because their church believes in the Full Gospel and they are a Spirit-filled church, but which spirit are you filled with? Paul said, if your doctrine is wrong, everything is wrong. Let’s face it. If you have the wrong Jesus, you are lost. You may be zealous, but you’ll still be lost.
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. (Gal 1:8-9)
Your church may have an “official” belief in miracles, but when last have you seen one? The point is, yes, God still works miracles at his good pleasure, but God will not participate in working miracles in a church that teaches false doctrine. According to Paul in Galatians 1:8-9, such ministries are cursed. If you are working miracles but teach “any other gospel”, can you truly say that you know God? What miracles do in such an environment is to confirm the false doctrine, thus making it a lying sign and wonder (2Thess 2:7-10).
The Lord himself testifies to this. We are not saying that miracles are all evil. We are saying what we are saying. Sound doctrine is of the utmost importance. A true knowledge of the true God is of the utmost importance. You cannot base or build a ministry on miracles. You cannot automatically equate miracles with truth (2Thess 2:9). The dragon will use miracles in the closing hours of the age as part of his satanic strategy to promote the mystery of iniquity. So those who do not know doctrine will be easily devoured (1Pet 5:8).
The Lord Jesus makes this point very clear in Matthew 7:21-23. Not everyone who says Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven. Jesus said:
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Please note that these men were working miracles and yet were workers of iniquity. The part that causes me concern is that they apparently were unaware this is how they were seen in the eyes of God. Please note carefully that they supposedly did all of these things in Jesus’ name, yet the real Jesus testified that he never knew them. So which Jesus were they in contact with? And which spirit, or anointing, were they working with to produce all of these results? Please go over Galatians 1:8-9 and 2Corinthians 11:1-4 again. You will never know the answer to these questions apart from an understanding of doctrine.
At Ekklesia we believe that God is a God of miracles. One of the names of Jesus is “Wonderful” (Isa 9:6). Not “wonderful counselor” as many think. His name is Wonderful, pointing to the marvelous things and wonders that he, as the God-man, was going to do and accomplish in his earthly and post-ascension ministry.
The antidote for the Antichrist is sound doctrine. Because the people who know their God, those who are neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, those who have the testimony of Christ, as revealed in the doctrine of Christ, will be strong in the Lord and the power of his might.
But enough said. Our purpose in the School of Biblical Understanding is to prepare the saints for an understanding of the word, their walk, worship, and warfare. No one can walk worthy without doctrine. There is no victory without doctrine. And there is no true worship while teaching and following the doctrines of men. We do not have all of the truth, but what we do know, we intend to shout it from the housetops and to preach and teach fervently to anyone who hungers and thirsts and to anyone with ears to hear. Not with a view to pleasing men but to the honor and glory of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Ekklesia’s School of Biblical Understanding will prove to be a valuable resource available to all. You’re welcome to sit and sup at the table prepared for you.
Amen and God bless.
